Project: Arch. Fabrizio Bianchetti
The project of the new bicycle and pedestrian bridge on the Neris river in Vilnius starts from the need to create a connection between the two banks of the river itself. On one side the historic city and on the other the Žvėrynas district with the new business and university areas. For these reasons, we worked on a central bridge able to connect the banks and, at the same time, create a relationship with the river (a circular square overlooking the water) and from this central space we created a series of continuous paths, able to overcome the side streets, to easily connect the other parts of the city.
