Redevelopment Garibaldi's square in Verbania

Project:  BIANCHETTIARCHITETTURA

The redevelopment Garibaldi’s square in Pallanza, overlooking Lake Maggiore in front of the Borromeo Gulf, has favored the recovery of the Verbano "open-air living room" with the valorisation of the public space dedicated to activities and events and the use of the spaces mainly for pedestrians, enhancing the existing municipal headquarters and green areas with the sculpture of the "Bella Pallanza".

The project has resulted in a study of paving in local stone and with an architectural finish with a "washed stone" effect that ennoble the environment, in a succession of backgrounds that also ideally delimit the different functional areas within the square.

For the paving, local materials were used such as slabs of serizzo and slabs of white granite which enhance the main architectural and sculptural highlights of the square, while for the remaining parts a "washed stone effect" paving was used alternating with intermediate bands, again in white granite.
