Palazzo Gerli: the new Community Associations Centre opens in San Giorgio su Legnano

Palazzo Gerli in San Giorgio su Legnano has officially opened as the new Casa delle Associazioni (Community Associations Centre), returning the historic building to the local community. The project combines the restoration and enhancement of its architectural character and setting with a measured approach to innovation, aimed at improving the building’s performance through carefully selected technological solutions.

Originally built to house the town hall, the Palazzo is an important part of the town’s historical heritage and has accommodated a variety of functions over the years, leading to its current use.

The decision to enhance the existing building, preserving its identity rather than introducing technology purely for visual effect, reflects a sustainable approach to the conservation of built heritage. The project addresses environmental, functional and aesthetic considerations, respecting the history of the place while meeting the community’s evolving needs.
