Project: Arch. Bianchetti Fabrizio
The proposal for the new library in Central Park in New York stems from the idea of responding and diversifying with respect to the services offered by a library tradition, to the most current need for informal reading spaces, through solutions that come into direct contact with the nature of the park.
The site is located in the southern of the Sheep Meadow area and includes a small pavilion slightly recessed in to the ground, surfacing like the rocks that characterize the entire Central Park, from which a series of scenic and elevated paths branch off, between the trees, to lead to the " nests “, living spaces, reading and meditation places in contact with the natural environment.
